PED complete a Pre-auth
Pre-auths allow you to reserve funds in advance of a future transaction and can be generated whether the cardholder is present or the cardholder is not present. During this time, while no funds have actually left the customer's bank account, these reserved funds are unavailable to spend. You can view current pre-auths by navigating to Guest Journey, Billing, then GuestPay pre-auths. The pre-auth can be adjusted, completed or cancelled after generating the pre-auth. If no action is taken on the pre-auth, the reserved funds are automatically released back to the cardholder after 30 days or for Amex cards 7-10 days depending on the acquirer.
β οΈImportant: The process below is only possible if the terminal is unpaired. Once the steps below have been completed the terminal can be paired back to the system.
Cardholder not present
To complete a pre-auth without the cardholder present, follow the steps below:
On the main screen, tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) and select Completion.
Enter the amount, then press the Tick.
πNote: If necessary, you can complete the pre-auth for a lower amount than was originally authorised. This final amount will be deposited into your bank account, and any remaining reserved funds will be released back to the cardholder. To complete the pre-auth for a higher amount than originally authorised, you must first complete an incremental authorisation.
Enter the Auth code, and press Tick.
π€Tip: The auth code is located on the merchant receipt or shown on the MYST token under Transaction, titled: Auth Code.
Enter the Sequence code, and press Tick.

Once completed, the receipts will print and the agreed completion value is settled to your account, and any remaining funds are returned to the cardholder.
Cardholder present
β οΈImportant: Maestro cards cannot be processed using the cardholder present option. Maestro cards can only be processed for MOTO pre-auth transactions so must be entered manually via cardholder not present option.
To complete a pre-auth with the cardholder present, follow the steps below:
On the main screen, tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) and select Completion.
When prompted to Complete with Card press Tick.
Enter the amount, then press the Tick.
πNote: If necessary, you can complete the pre-auth for a lower amount than was originally authorised. This final amount will be deposited into your bank account, and any remaining reserved funds will be released back to the cardholder. To complete the pre-auth for a higher amount than originally authorised, you must first complete an incremental authorisation.
Enter the Auth code, and press Tick.
