PED status bar and main screen overview

The initial user display contains information about the current state of the terminal and allows you to run some basic operations. This information article provides further details on these features below.

Contactless indicator

A green flashing icon top left indicates the readiness to accept contactless cards, as shown below:

Status bar

Information about the date and time, connection type, signal strength and battery status is placed in the status bar at the top of the screen.
The status bar contains all the important information needed to operate the payment terminal, as discussed below:

  • Date - Present date in format dd:mm:yy.

  • Time - In format hh:mm:ss.

  • Internet connection type:

    • Wi-Fi signal – on/off indication and information of signal strength (shown in the image above).

    • Bluetooth – on/off indication and information of BT connection.

    • GPRS/GSM – connection via SIM card, network type and signal strength.

    • LAN - connection - on/off indication "S" symbol for cabled LAN connection.

  • AEVI Pay Server - Indication of AEVI Pay Server connection.

  • Battery status - Remaining battery capacity and recharge status.

Touch screen buttons

In the bottom of the screen there are virtual buttons:

Quick pay

To complete a quick sale, follow the steps below:

  1. On the main screen, tap the left hand icon for Quick Pay.

  2. Enter value and tap tick.

  3. User can then enter gratuity if required, and present their card for payment.

    πŸ€“Tip: To cancel the translation prior to card being presented, press the red button the keyboard.

  4. Once completed, the receipt will print.

Menu (three horizontal lines)

The terminal includes a number of functions required for correct terminal operation. To enter this list, use the virtual key β€œMenu” located in the middle at the bottom of the touch screen.


Selection of the required function is performed by touching the item on the display, scrolling is done by pressing the Screen Up and Screen Down and return to the previous menu by using the arrow Back.

The list of available functions depends on the specific terminal configuration and can differ from one application to another.

Quick Menu (nine dot menu)

Press quick menu, using the virtual key located in the bottom right of the touch screen, to access a menu featuring main function modes.
