If your terminal has a local integration, such as with the Access EPOS software development kit (SDK) local version, and you cannot use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) reservation, you need to disable DHCP and set a static IP address. A static IP address gives your terminal a fixed address on the network, ensuring consistent local communication.
On the connected terminal, select the Settings cog icon.
Select Network and enter the Admin & Settings passcode.
Select the Settings icon to the right of the connected network to open the network settings.
📌 Note: The network settings screen varies depending on the operating system version on your terminal. You may need to long-press the network name or tap the gear icon to reach the advanced settings.
Select IP Settings, turn off DHCP or select Static. This can be found by selecting the pencil icon in the top right of the screen.
Enter your network details:
IP address of the terminal - this must be unique in the network
Subnet mask of the network
IP address of the router
IP addresses of the preferred DNS server (DNS1) and the alternate DNS server (DNS2)
Tap Save or Apply to confirm.
