Activate Tru-link integrated PED for the first time
Tru-link PEDs (Pin Entry Devices) allows a seamless integration between your PEDs and your EPOS or Rezlynx system.
β οΈImportant: This article is only to be used in conjunction with your Tru-link activation email from the GuestPay Team. If you are not linking your terminals to the system using Tru-link, then you would set up new PEDs as stand-alone devices.
Stage 1: Software update process
Automatic software updates are generally pushed out overnight, it is therefore imperative that terminals are left powered on in the charging cradles and the terminal is online.
However, for your tru-link activation we request that you also complete a manual update prior to activation.
To complete a manual update, follow the steps below:
On the PED main screen, select Menu.
Select Administrator.
When prompted enter the Manager Password.
Tap the Green Tick.
πNote: Please contact a manager on-site if you are unsure of this six digit code.
Select Software Update.
The Terminal will now connect and start updating the latest release and reboot.
Each version is downloaded individually therefore please repeat these steps multiple times until you receive the message 'your software is up to date'
The minimum version for Tru-link is 0401.144122.
Stage 2: Pairing process
To pair the Tru-link PED to the system, follow the steps below:
On the PED main screen, select the nine dot Quick Menu,
Select Admin.
When prompted, enter the Manager Password.
Tap the Green Tick.
πNote: Contact a manager on-site if you are unsure of this six digit code.
Select option 02 Pair with POS.
Pairing Icon will show at the top of your screen.
β οΈImportant: If pairing for the first time, wait 1 hour after pairing icon appears before attempting a transaction, this will allow the terminal registration to complete.
Stage 3: Test transaction
Once the Tru-link connection has completed, complete a test transaction.
If you have been unable to complete a test authorisation or transaction, contact the GuestPay team.
